Sanuri Dinasha Rathnasooriya is a final-year undergraduate student pursuing a BSc (Hons) in Environmental Sciences and Natural Resource Management at Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka. Her academic training spans microbiology, environmental toxicology, biotechnology, and analytical chemistry, reflecting a broad commitment to understanding the intersection of science and sustainability.

For her final-year research, she is investigating the perchlorate bioremediation potential of fungal-bacterial biofilms in Martian simulant soils, a study that bridges environmental microbiology with astrobiology and planetary science.

Beyond her research, Sanuri has gained hands-on experience as a temporary science teacher, a field assistant in microplastics and climate change adaptation studies. She holds a certification in Environmental Management Systems (ISO 14001:2015) and has completed coursework in climate change and sustainability transitions.

Sanuri is passionate about advancing sustainable solutions through scientific inquiry, with particular interests in microbiology, biofilm research, and environmental toxicology.
