Sanuri Abiseka is an Environmental Science and Natural Resource Management professional with a strong interest in climate resilience, sustainable development, biodiversity conservation, and environmental research.

She currently works as a Research Assistant at the University of Ruhuna, contributing to research related to single-use plastics and sustainable waste management. Prior to this, she worked for nearly two years with the Integrated Development Association (IDEA) under the Climate Resilient Eco-Village Development (CREVD) Project, serving as a Project Officer and Volunteer Trainee. During this experience, she contributed to community-based initiatives in disaster risk reduction (DRR), climate change mitigation and adaptation, sustainable livelihoods, waste management, and community resilience.

She holds a BSc (Hons) in Environmental Science and Natural Resource Management from the Faculty of Applied Sciences, Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka. Her academic and professional journey has strengthened her experience in environmental research, GIS and remote sensing, climate change, biodiversity, community development, and sustainable environmental practices.

She is passionate about connecting scientific knowledge with practical, community-level solutions and contributing to a more climate-resilient, sustainable, and environmentally responsible future.
